Entertainment has become one of the largest drivers of technology development. However, who would have thought, ten years ago, that computer games would require more computing power than sophisticated business programs? Or that five years ago, those custom ring tones for cellular phones would emerge as a multi-billion dollar industry? Even more surprising, who would have thought that the historic, content-driven parts of Time-Warner would eclipse those of AOL, its ardent suitor? Or that a VHS-Betamax type of controversy would be playing out a second time in the competition between the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray standards for high capacity DVDs?
What does all this mean for small to medium-sized technology companies? What kinds of businesses are solid and look appealing to investors, and which are too risky, too early or too late?
Please join us on January 21st and find out, as we hear from a panel of entertainment industry and technology experts, which includes two Academy Award winners. The business questions haven't changed over the years, but the answers are changing every day. Keep ahead of the competition, and find out what's happening today and in the next few years. |
