"How Can A Nano Company Get To Wall Street?"
Saturday, December 8, 2007
Since its 2001 launch, the National Nanotechnology Initiative has funded over eight billion federal dollars to advance nanotechnology research. Corresponding advances in commercialization have followed, with many nanotech companies now approaching IPOs on Wall Street. While there's no doubt that hype has justifiably raised eyebrows - and that some companies will, in the words of Peter Coffee (Director of Platform Research, Salesforce.com) "circle indefinitely around a 'Sargasso Sea of someday soon'" -- clearly others will establish themselves on Wall Street in the next year or so.
With nanotechnology developments leading to predictions of company successes in a "Trillion Dollar Market", today's program will have three leading nanotechnology companies that are aiming for an Initial Public Offering on Wall Street. Founders of Unidym, Inc., NanoDynamics, Inc., and NanoGram Corp. will present their companies with critical commentary and analysis from a panel of seasoned nanotechnology industry observers, VCs and Wall Streeters.
